This section deals with the procedures that should be followed in taking samples of a range of commodities. The list of recommended (but not ISPM approved) sampling rates that have been used by other agencies are in Appendix N.

Other references for sampling rates are available at the APHIS, BICON and MPI sites by locating the particular commodity type and then finding the sampling rate and method recommended by these agencies. An international standard for phytosanitary measures (ISPM) for sampling is under development.
