Post-Entry Quarantine

A. Nursery stock and seeds

This section covers procedures (phytosanitary measures) for plants and seeds in post-entry quarantine (PEQ) and the tests that are conducted for specific regulated pests and regulated non-quarantine pests.

In all cases, nursery stock will be imported either through the airport or the post office, as most material is perishable. It is important to recognise that these goods are valuable and their inspection and clearance is a priority. Nursery stock includes plants, cuttings, bulbs and tubers, tissue cultures and seeds that are for planting
