Animal Exports

Under Section 26 of the regional biosecurity legislation guidelines, the biosecurity director is required to maintain a list of overseas import requirements. In the case of animals, much of the work in the certification of animals and animal products for export is done by veterinarians and where these are not available, by para-veterinarians, using tests that are specified by the importing country. OIE-approved tests/standards are the normal requirements.

The required processes are specified by the importing country and may be unique for each animal or animal product. This will be produced by the national biosecurity service.
